Funtime with your Austin 7

Trialling

This is a very silly game involving driving up steep grassy and muddy hills between posts that mark out a course, it is not a speed test and is scored by how far up the slope you can reach Events are run by the VSCC and local clubs. There are classes for Standard, Modified and Special cars. Even standard cars can show a muddy pair of wheels to a £100,000 Range Rover

Driving tests

These involve driving around a test course which is often laid out on an old airfield and marked by cones Speed is of the essence but you also have to stop at exact points and also drive in reverse They are run by lots of local and national motor clubs including the VSCC who hold ones at Bicester and Brooklands

There are simpler tests called Autosolos which do not involve reversing so are more suitable to those of us who can’t turn round to look behind!
